SPRING 2025 WORKSHOPS

In spring 2025, the City hosted an online public workshop and three in-person workshops in the Bronx, Manhattan and Brooklyn to learn about New Yorkers’ experiences with fair housing.

The workshops were designed to engage participants on fair housing issues impacting New Yorkers and the City’s current strategies to address them. Activities were designed to inform New Yorkers about fair housing issues, elicit feedback for the new plan, and empower participants to take action against housing discrimination. Workshops were held at the following locations:

COMMUNITY VOICES IN NYC LIBRARIES

In August 2024, the City brought interactive Where We Live NYC installations to neighborhood libraries in all five boroughs. 21 library branches across the Brooklyn Public Library, New York Public Library, and Queens Public Library systems hosted opportunities to:

  • Share personal stories finding and keeping housing
  • Learn about fair housing
  • Connect with housing resources

30 housing resource and education events were offered in partnership with the NYC Commission on Human Rights and Fair Housing Justice Center, including:

  • Film screening: Segregated by Design
  • Training: Fair Housing for Young Adults
  • Training: Know Your Rights: Fair Housing Law and Resources for Housing Discrimination
